The Right to Be Heard
Let's All Live Wealthy!
There is so much more to living wealthy than money. It's health, family, friends, homes, church, work, education, giving, and serving one another.
Teresa Kuhn with Living Wealthy interviews Texas Right To Know Founders, Sheila Hemphill and Coleman Hemphill. This mother and son team serve as pro bono, citizen lobbyists working on issue you care about. During their time in the Capitol, they came across other people just like them who care passionately about certain issues that they sacrifice their personal time and money to advocate on behalf of the public. These issues and individuals are part of the Texas Right To Know Coalition. Come get involved and help hold our elected officials accountable to their constituents to pass laws that benefit the people.
During this interview the following issues were discussed:
Save Our Vote - 1:47
Smart Meters - 10:00
Fairness For Docs - 33:26
Industrial Hemp - 28:15
“After speaking before the committees, personally contacting their offices, and speaking directly with many members, they obviously did not object to this definition in state law that would prosecute “claims of Jews killing Jesus” (aka God’s word) as antisemitism. They obviously have no objections to vague and ambiguous terms like “a certain perception” to adjudicate punishment, nor to the definition that infringes on our 1st Amendment's Freedom of Speech, which includes “expressions of hatred” so long as expressions do not incite violence or harm to individuals. These additions in law they are proposing are not necessary since bullying or violations of code of conduct are clearly defined and punishable regardless of motivations, race, religion, or nationality. The offices of the authors of the seven antisemitism bills were unaware that the law includes "Working Definitions of Antisemitism," with number 9 which states, “Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis." This antisemitism definition was also used in Governor Abbott’s
GA-44 Executive Order and in 37 other states who have adopted the IHRA definitions, “said Sheila Hemphill, CEO Texas Right To Know.
